Portia Putatunda left a profession in Mumbai and moved to Komic village in Spiti to begin a free boarding college below Planet Spiti Basis that gives meals, shelter, schooling, and clothes to underprivileged youngsters.
Portia Putatunda, a profitable journalist in Mumbai, discovered her life taking an sudden flip when tragedy struck. The lack of her solely father or mother, her father, left her in deep grief.

So in 2020, she made a life-altering choice to stop her job and profession to relocate to Spiti. For roughly two years, she immersed herself in Kaza, dedicating her time to educating underprivileged college students without spending a dime, and conducting courses beneath a tree.
In 2022, she launched into a brand new chapter in Komic — the best village in India — by establishing a free boarding college for underprivileged youngsters. Beginning with simply three youngsters, the varsity has since grown to accommodate 10.
Portia, lovingly referred to as a ‘mom’ to those youngsters, attributes her biggest inspiration and motivation to her late father.
